The Town of Palm Beach Voluntary I.D. Card program exists to assist employers who wish to confirm the identity of prospective employees. Applications can be obtained from the police department's Crime Scene/Evidence Unit located in the lobby of police headquarters. For more information, you can phone 838-5466.

The Voluntary Identification Card Program is provided as a service to residents and the business community. Under the provisions of Florida State Statute 119 (the Public Records Law) an employer may obtain criminal history information on an employee. This can be done either by a name check or a fingerprint check of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's criminal history files. In either case, the employer must request the information directly from the State. With the assistance of criminal history checks, conducted privately by employers, you can help identify the criminal element who may seek employment with you.

Out-of-State Town of Palm Beach Resident I.D. Cards
The Out of State Town of Palm Beach Resident Identification Card Program is designed to assist our Out of State residents/owners/lease holders to gain access to the Island after a storm event. This is NOT a Resident Card. You must have an Out of State driver's license. Applications can be obtained from the police department's Crime Scene/Evidence Unit located in the lobby of police headquarters. For more information, you can phone 838-5466.

VALID I.D. CARDS REQUIRED FOR RE-ENTRY FOLLOWING A STORM
Once an evacuation order has been issued the police department will establish checkpoints at all entry points to the Town. The Town’s Damage Assessment Team will evaluate conditions on the Island and a determination regarding re-opening the Island will be made based on that damage assessment.
Efforts will be made after a storm emergency to allow access to residential and business services as soon as practicable. Business representatives and residential employees will be required to produce a valid Town of Palm Beach identification card in order to be allowed back onto the island. In order to expedite the re-entry process, employers are strongly encouraged to require their employees to obtain Town of Palm Beach identification cards as soon as possible.
The Voluntary I.D. Card Program is provided as a service to residents and the business community. Applications can be obtained from the police department's Crime Scene/Evidence Unit located in the lobby of police headquarters or downloaded from our website at www.palmbeachpolice.com. The individual applying for a Voluntary I.D. card must bring the application signed by his/her employer along with $15.00 and legal identification (valid driver’s license, state identification card or passport) to the Crime Scene/Evidence Unit of the Palm Beach Police Department, 345 S. County Road, Palm Beach, FL.
Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 10 am to 2 pm. During hurricane season, I.D. card service will cease two days before landfall. Regular service will be resumed as conditions permit. For more information, please call (561) 838-5466.
Digital Fingerprint Identification System
The Palm Beach Police Department’s Crime Scene and Evidence Unit is equipped to take inkless fingerprints and digital photographs. Our staff will print a set of full color identification cards; one to carry with you and one to keep at home. Residents are encouraged to bring their children to Palm Beach Police headquarters at 345 S. County Road, Palm Beach, where they can obtain identification cards free of charge.
